Possessing some of Barr's eccentricities, Barle can be seen at the Rockefeller Building drafting a lease, painting a vacant unit, snow
plowing the parking lot or pruning the roses in the courtyard. Involved in all the facets of his business ventures, Barle revels in living
a multi-faceted business life.
"I like to be involved in things," said Barle "and it has a way of keeping you grounded." Although he is extremely dedicated to his business
interests, your more likely to hear Barle discuss the poetry of Charles Bukowski or Philip Levine and the music of Tom Waits than you are to
hear him discuss rent role or accounts receivable. "The business side of my life is very time consuming. It is necessary. Lots of people,
however, succeed in business. On the other hand, very few people can create immortality with the art they create. I find it remarkable. There
are times I reread something that I am particularly fond of and think to myself, most people could write for their entire life and never come
close to that."
